The New
Turkish Lira (Yeni Türk
Lirasi, YTL), with six less zeros
than the old Turkish Lira (TL) currency,
was introduced on January 1, 2005.
(On January 1, 2009, new
notes were introduced to replace
the YTL notes. More...)
Though the examples below are not
actual size, you can see what New
Turkish Lira (YTL) bills/notes
looked like. (Örnektir Geçmez means "Specimen—Not
Negotiable." This is not printed
on the real bills/notes, of course.)
Do not accept these YTL notes!
Accept only the 2009-series
Turkish Lira notes!
