My favorite hotels and
cave inns (inns and hotels with rock-hewn
cave rooms) in the Cappadocian town
of Ürgüp are
these:
Esbelli
Evi
First of the restored cave
inns, Esbelli is still
my personal favorite, in no small measure
because of the artistic eye and personal
attention of its
owner-creator, my longtime friend Mr
Süha
Ersöz. He now has several cave
suites/apartments
to offer as well. More...
Serinn
House
Another wonderful small cave inn run by a well-traveled
lady, this one with a difference: the tidy cave rooms
are done in a simple, appealing modern style.
The owner, Ms Eren Serpen, worked
for British Airways and speaks Turkish, English and
Italian. More...
4Oda
Its name is its number: 4Oda
(Dört Oda, pronounced
DURT-oh-dah) means "four
rooms." Now there are five, but
the welcome is just as warm and personal,
the rooms comfortable, and the location
excellent.

Ürgüp
Evi
Terraces, terraces—they
seem to be everywhere in this picturesque
hillside inn.
Pick your place: grass, stone, shady,
sunny, under the awnings, under the
sun, in your cozy cave room. It's quiet,
sunny, comfy and friendly. More...
Sacred
House
Escape from mere reality into
a medieval fairytale: surrounded by Ottoman
Armenian and Greek antiques, with soft
music wafting through the air, you'll
lose yourself...then find a new you.
What's "sacred" in this beautiful inn
is your own dreams of romance,
fantasy,
creativity. More...
Akköy Village House
Want to get away from it all to an
authentic Cappadocian Turkish village?
You can, at the Akköy
Village House,
11 km (7 miles) from Ürgüp. More...
Yunak
Evleri
Caves in a steep Ürgüp cliff
have been nicely restored and equipped
with all the modern comforts. More...
