Istanbul's

Hotel Ilkay, between
Sirkeci
station and Sultanahmet,
is a good choice in terms of
location, facilities, service and
price.
Location: It's on
Hüdavendigâr Caddesi,
the continuation of Alemdar Caddesi
that connects Sultanahmet with Sirkeci and Eminönü (map).
This means you have easy access to
the Zeytinburnu-Kabatas
tram, Sirkeci
station,
the Eminönü
ferry docks, the Egyptian
(Spice) Bazaar and Galata
Bridge, and
yet Sultanahmet is only a 10-minute
walk away. And if you don't want to
walk, you can ride the tram.
Facilities: the 60
guest rooms at the Hotel
Ilkay all have individual
heating and air-conditioning units,
so you can control your room temperature
as you like. Good beds, private bathrooms,
satellite television sets, hair dryers—the
rooms are comfortable, and reached
by an elevator/lift.
Service: There's
24-hour room service, free safe deposit
boxes for your valuables, non-smoking

Besides the good value-for-money restaurants
of the Sirkeci
Group, the Ilkay
is near
the simple restaurants
near the Hocapasa mosque.
Price: room rates
are lower in general for Sirkeci district
hotels because they are not (yet) as
well known as hotels in Cankurtaran or
along Divan
