The 2010 Formula 1
Grand Prix auto
race will be held in Istanbul from
May 28th
to 30th, at Istanbul
Park in Tuzla/Kurtköy,
62 km (38 miles) southeast of Istanbul on
the Asian side of the
Bosphorus near Sabiha
Gökçen
Airport.
In past years a sell-out
crowd of 125,000+
traveled to the new track to watch
the grand prix practice trials, qualifying
races, and grand prix race.
Most Istanbul
hotels will be fully booked months
in advance for the entire weekend.
If you plan to see any Grand
Prix,
you'd do well reserve
your room early!
A good
travel agent to
use is Turista.
If you're coming from abroad, the
best way to visit Turkey for the races
may
be by special tour.
Transport to Istanbul
Park: many
Istanbul
hotels organize private
minibuses to take their
guests from Istanbul city
center to the Istanbul
Park Otodrom for special
events, and return. This may
cost much less
than a private taxi.
Luckily,
the flow of traffic to
Istanbul
Park is often the
opposite
of the rush hour traffic,
so the trip usually takes about one
hour each
way.
