Sultans Inn Hotel in Sultanahmet

Post by maplek » Thu Dec 08, 2011 5:40 pm

We had a great time at this hotel - it's in a quiet road and the staff are the friendliest I have ever come across - they gave us loads of local, off the track tips. This budget hotel is nestled in an area of quite fancy hotels at twice the price so this was a bargain. Our room was small but with a view of the mosque and a great shower - all you need if you are going to be out all day exploring Istanbul. They gave you plenty of time for breakfast so you could lie in and breakfast at leisure on various home baked breads, baklava, hot dishes and a great range of cheeses, olives, yoghurt, cereals and dried fruit - enough to keep you going all day!

In the evenings we would go up to the roof terrace and listen to the call to prayer all across the city, with a panoramic view of the sparkling lights of the city and out to sea - fabulous. Thanks to everyone at the hotel who helped to make our stay extra special.

We highly recommend the Sultan's Inn Hotel. Everything was perfect. Wonderful location, delicious food, and incredible staff. We particularly enjoyed our little balcony overlooking the street. The hotel staff was very friendly, especially Hakan, who was extremely conscientious about meeting our needs. Hakan made sure that we experienced "authentic" Istanbul and provided great recommendations for restaurants, cafes, and sightseeing. This hotel was recommended to us by a friend and we want to continue to spread the word.
