Hi,
Probably one for Carrie...
Looking at photos of Cirali-Olympos beach, it seems (on google satellite maps) that if the sea is in front of you, the headland to your right would be the best area for snorkelling (yes?) - so, as we'd prefer to use our energies up in the water, can anyone recommend budget accommodation near to that end of the beach?
thanks in advance
Stella

Re: Best located lodgings for snorkelling in Cirali
As you have asked for my advise..the best areas for snorkelling will be along any parts of the rocky shores that are located either to the far south of the Cirali Olympos bay..or to the far north of the end of the beach in Cirali known as the Karaburun...and at either areas there are no pansions or hotels..you will still have to walk to these sections of the beach to access these areas..dont forget that the entire beach of Cirali is about 4kms long..
You can snorkelling just off the main middle area of the beach in Cirali where the restaurants are located..and just a few days ago one of my guests that has visited us for the past three years again saw sea turtles just off the shore about 200-500 meters out while swimming..he sees them every year in the early morning hours at about 8am..
There are plenty of small and a few colorful fish that are near the shorline to see for snorkelling..
Also my best recommendation for you if you want to see lots of fish while snorkelling..is take a boat trip for the day from Cirali..cost is about 40 liras per person with a fish lunch included on the boat..and this boat will cruise the many small bays and inlets around Cirali..and the best place for snorkelling in my opinion is the Coban Liman ( called Shepard's cove )
I would have hope that you have looked through my many photos on flickr ??

This special little cove was excellent for snorkelling and the abundance of small colorful fish was breathtaking.....it was about 60m deep and we had fun diving off the edge of the boat..also great fun feeding the fish pieces of bread.
Also if you have more specific questions about Cirali you can send me a message..
In regards to accommodations in Cirali I would not be fair for me to comment ( as many of you know that I own my own hotel in Cirali ) however you can read the many reviews here as well as on the Trip advisor.
