Kâmil Koç now has an English-language site, kimlik number

Post by MorganHite » Sat Mar 12, 2016 10:06 pm

Just last night I discovered an "English" button on the upper right corner of the Kâmil Koç web site. It seems to work pretty well. (The TPP page on Kâmil Koç says its website is only in Turkish, so I thought I would note this here.)

Also, I have a question: when as a foreigner (I'm Canadian) I buy a bus ticket, what do I put in the text field for one's TR Kimlik (Identification) number? Is it valid to leave it blank?

Thanks,

Morgan

I haven't used this feature, so I don't know. For the record, every Turkish citizen has an official identification number. The number is requested for most activities requiring any sort of registration...so the Turkish government knows whenever you've bought anything, or traveled, or....

Some online purchase mechanisms will not process your information and make the same without an 11-digit TC Kimlik number; others will. I was once in a situation where putting a string of 11 zeros into the field worked.
