Itinerary

Day 1 Arrival & Hotel Check-in

Welcome to Turkey! Upon your arrival at Istanbul Airport, our transferman will welcome you and take you to your hotel. After you check-in to your hotel and rest a little bit, our guide will meet you in the lobby and give you an orientation about Istanbul and our 14-day tour.

Overnight in Istanbul

Day 2 Istanbul (Walking Tour)

Hippodrome

Our first stop will be great Roman Hippodrome, which dates back to 2nd century A.D. In the Hippodrome, you can see the Obelisk of the Tuthmosis the third, German Fountain, Serpent Column and the Obelisk of Constantine

Blue Mosque

Later, we will visit the Blue Mosque, which was built in 1616 by the Ottoman Sultan Ahmet I.

Hagia Sophia

We will visit Hagia Sophia, the great church built in 537 by Justinianus.

Lunch at a local restaurant

Topkapi Palace

We will continue our tour by visiting the great Ottoman Palace, Topkapi where Sultans lived for five centuries.

We will return to our hotel.

Day 3 Istanbul (Walking Tour & Public Transportation)

Underground Cistern (Basilical Cistern)

We will stop and see the Basilica Cistern, which was built at the same time as Hagia Sofia. In this 6th century structure, you will be able to see the heads of Medusa, which brought here from the temples of Constantinople.

Istanbul Archeological Museum

After, we will walk to the Istanbul Archeological Museum to see art from the Hellenistic Period as well as Roman Treasuries, which were found in the Ottoman Empire’s territories during the 19th century.

Lunch at a local restaurant

Grand Bazaar

Following lunch, we will stop at the Grand Bazaar, one of the oldest shopping malls in the world, which dates back to the 16th century.

Spice Market

We will walk down to Spice Market where you can find the great amount of spices from all over the world and Turkey.

After the tour finishes for the day, you will be transferred back to your hotel.

Overnight in Istanbul

Day 4 Ephesus Region (Fly to İzmir & Private Tour)

Ephesus

Depending on our flight, we will transfer to Istanbul Airport and fly to İzmir. From İzmir Airport we will drive one hour to Selcuk. Before we check-in to our hotel, we will visit Ephesus, one of the most beautiful ancient sites of the world.

Temple of Artemis

After lunch, we will drive to the Temple of Artemis, which was one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.

St. John’s Basilica

Later, we will visit the Basilica of St. John, which was donated by Justinianus, who financed Hagia Sophia in Constantinople.

Virgin Marys’ House

Selcuk Ephesus Museum

We will visit the Selcuk Ephesus Museum and see some of the amazing artifacts from Ephesus.

We will return to our hotel.

Overnight in Selcuk or Kusadasi

Estimated Time: 6 to 8 hours.

Day 5 Priene, Miletus, Didyma (Tour with Private Van)

Priene

We will begin our tour with a 1 to 2 hour drive to Priene, an Ionian City that was first established in the 7th century B.C. as a port city on the sea, which was silted by the Meander River.

Miletus

We will drive to Miletus. This city is known for some of the great philosophers of ancient times, including Thales, Anaximenes, and Hekaistos.

Didyma

After lunch, we will stop at Didyma, the Temple of Apollon where most prophecies were given. The biggest oracle was serving at the Apollon Temple. Depending on schedule, lunch may be after the visit.

At the end of the tour, we will go to our hotel and rest up in preparation for Day 6.

Day 6 Aphrodisias & Hierapolis (Drive to Denizli & Private Tour)

Aphrodisias

Following checkout from our hotel, we will drive approximately two hours to Aphrodisias, which is one of the most well preserved ancient sites in Turkey. Earliest settlement in Aphrodisias dates back to 5000 B.C. However, the city that we are going to see is from 2nd century B.C.

Hierapolis (Pamukkale / Cotton Castle)

Later, we will drive to one of the greatest healing centers in the world, Hierapolis. Hierapolis can be named as “Woodstock ‘69” of the ancient world. Since it was one of the healing regions of the time, people often carried their tombs with them to die. That’s why the name Necropolis (cemetery) of Hierapolis is so common in Anatolia. During this trip, guests also can see the travertine, Cotton Castle, formed by calcium.

We will return to our hotel and prepare for the next morning.

Day 7 Laodicea & Antalya (Drive to Antalya & Private Tour)

Laodicea

After we check out from our hotel, we will drive to Antalya where we will visit the Laodicea Ancient City which was established in 1st century B.C. Laodicea had two great theaters, rather than one. It is a unique, impressive site with beautiful features.

Drive To Antalya

After lunch, we will begin driving to Antalya for approximately three hours.

We will check-in to our hotel and rest up for Day 8 of our program.

Day 8 Antalya Archeological Museum & Perge & Aspendos (Private Antalya Region Tour)

Antalya Archeological Museum

We will begin Day 8 with the Anatalya Archeological Museum, one of the best museums in the world with statues mostly found in the ancient site, Perge. The sarcophagia section of the museum has the largest amount of examples in Turkey.

Perge

After the museum, we will drive to Perge Ancient City has been excavated by Turkish Archeologists at the beginning.

Aspendos

After lunch, we will stop and see Aspendos, the great theater of the Roman Empire built in 2nd century A.D. with 15,000 people in capacity.

We will return to our hotel to rest up for Day 9 of our program.

Day 9 Konya & Mevlana Museum (Drive to Konya & Private Tour)

Mevlana Museum

We will start our day by checking out of our hotel and travelling through the most spectacular and picturesque route from Antalya to Konya over the Mountain Taurus. We will then visit the Mevlana Museum, the center of whirling dervishes and Sufism, and discover the humanistic theology based on love and respect to the diversity of the universe.

After the lunch, we will check in to our hotel and relax.

Overnight in Konya

Day 10 Cappadocia (Drive to Cappadocia & Private Tour)

Sultanhan Caravanserai

Following checkout from our hotel, we will start our day by driving to Cappadocia along the Silk Road. During this trip, we will visit Sultanhan Caravanserai where ancient travelers stayed overnight on their journeys during the 12th century and later.

Cappadocia

After lunch, we will drive to Cappadocia and have an orientation for what we are going to see in the next two days.

We will check-in to the hotel and rest up for Day 11.

Day 11 Cappadocia Region (Private Cappadocia Region Tour)

Devrent Valley (Imagination Valley)

Day 11 will begin with an exploration of Cappadocia with Devrent Valley (also known as Imagination Valley), where we will see the different types of Fairy Chimney formations, which formed almost 30 million years ago.

Pasabag (Monks Valley)

We will then stop in Pasabag, where we will see the most interesting fairy chimneys, resembling those seen in the Hobbit and Smurfs.

Pottery Workshop

This trip offers the opportunity to stop by a local pottery shop, where details are shared of how people survived and created beautiful art dating back to the Hittite period.

Goreme Open Air Museum

The stop at Goreme Open Air Museum allows you to discover some of the best cave churches of the 530 in Cappadocia.

Uchisar Castle Region

We will stop at Uchisar Castle and Pigeon Valley, two of the best spots for photography and photo opportunities in the world.

Pigeon Valley

Pause for a photo break at Pigeon Valley.

We will return to our hotel.

Day 12 Sinassos & Ayvali & Underground City (Private Cappadocia Region Tour)

Mustafapasa (Sinassos)

We will begin Day 12 by seeing the Greek Village, Sinassos. Between 1924 and 1927, the people of Greece and Turkey exchanged goods to avoid a civil war. Since then, the village has been partially inhabited by Macedonian Turks.

Kaymakli Underground City

We will then drive to Kaymakli Underground City to see how Christians protected and defended themselves from the persecutions and invasions for centuries.

Lunch at a local restaurant

Ayvali (Aravan Village)

After lunch, we will visit the untainted village of Ayvali.

We will return to our hotel and rest before an early morning flight to Istanbul.

Overnight in Cappadocia

Day 13 Chora Church & Bosphorous Tour (Fly to Istanbul & Private Tour)

Bosphorus Boat Tour

We will start our tour with a Bosphorus Cruise (approximately two hours). During this trip, you will be able to see some historical scenes of Istanbul such as the palaces, summer mansions, houses from the Ottoman Empire, and more.

Chora Church

We will then go to the Chora Church, built in 6th century A.C., to see the spectacular, one-of-a-kind mosaics and some frescoes.

Leusiure Rest of The Day

Because this is your last day in Turkey, we will spend the remainder of the day relaxing, enjoying, and taking in your last moments in Turkey.

Day 14 Returning home

If you plan to depart, we will transfer you to the airport.
