Hotel in Taurus mountains for walkers

Post by sally » Sat May 15, 2010 10:24 am

Two hours north of Antalya, deep in the Taurus mountains, is the small town of Sutculer. We have stayed at the Karacan Otel ([email protected]) for the past two years and love it. The rooms are basic (some en suite). Views from the dining room, terrace and some bedrooms are stupendous. Meals (no choices) are delicious - home cooked Turkish food. The couple who own it are most helpful and hospitable - Gulay speaks a little English and Ibrahim knows all the walking and trekking routes and will help with transport and navigation but speaks little English. It is right on the St Paul Trail from Antalya to Antioch in Pisidia.
