Sarnic restaurant-Any good?; Develi-which one?

Post by martyap » Wed Sep 20, 2006 11:31 pm

Thanks for all the great advice on this board. We will be in Istanbul mid-October for 6 days.

Have heard mixed reviews on Sarnic Restaurant in Sultanahmet. Read that the decor in an underground cistern is unreal. How is the food and about what would a dinner for two run? Can't very well eat the romantic candles!

Also....have read that Develi is a good pick. I know there is one in Samatya maybe 15-20 minute taxi from Sultanahmet. Anyone have info on the Develi in Fenerbahce. Heard it is "preferred" by locals. How far from Sultanahmet.

Sarnic is okay, but it'll cost about £80 for two people with a bottle of wine. That's well expensive! I'd visit Yerebetan and go to a trendy eatery elsewhere. Treat yourself to a night out in Suadiye or somewhere - it'll still cost less including ferries and taxis.
