quail eggs allergy

Post by alix1886 » Fri May 28, 2010 8:50 pm

Hi,
I would like to know if turkish cooking employs quail eggs and which is the word in turkish for them.

We will be travelling around Turkey for three weeks and even a little taste of this eggs gives me a violent allergic reaction
Thanks in advance

"Bıldırcın" is quail in Turkish, and egg is "yumurta". My Turkish grammar isn't up to combining those two words, but I guess that's probably enough for you. Oh yes, you might need "istemiyorum" - "I don't want".

So, it might be "Bıldırcın yumurtası istemiyorum" - "I don't want quails' eggs" - I'm hoping that's right?

David,
thank you so much!!!

It surely will be enough, and hope much simpler than when I travelled through Thailand with the words written in thai characters.
Best regards,
Alicia
