Hi all,

Who was Karaca Ahmet (there is Karacaahmet Mezarligi-cemetery in Istanbul)?
Was he a sultan or a dervish? Was he a friend of Haci Bektash?

Thank you in advance for any information in English
There is a lot of web-sites in Turkish

A very late answer:

Karaca Ahmet was born in Horasan/Turkestan. Turkestan is the name of great turcic land. Russians divided Turkistan into Kirkizistan, Turkmenistan, Ozbekistan, Kazakistan for to rule easly after their occupation. China occupied other part the East Turkistan called Uigur. His father was a Turkish Bey. He studied psiciatry at home and became a doctor of psyciatry. After finishing the faculty he got the orders to travel to Anatolia which was occupied by Seljuk Turks. He worked with Haci Bektas Veli, the founder of derwich order Bektasi. Haci Bektas Veli send him to Costantinopolis to teach islam to the people of Byzanz living around the metropole. He settled in todays Uskudar. He was a Bektasi dervish. His rank was higher then many Bektasi. For that reason he was called Sultan for respect. He is buried in Uskudar very near to the selimiye Army barracks. During the last 600 years many were buried near his tomb. Since that time the place is called Karaca Ahmet Mezarlığı the Cemetary of Karaca Ahmet.
