I have read posts about Frommers and Lonely Planet but the book I have enjoyed reading as a guide book the most is John Freely's Eastern Shores of Turkey. He tells about all the wonderful sites from Istanbul and all down the entire coastline, plus a short distance inland. He seems to concentrate on historic site with ruins. Not a lot of information about hotels. But I prefer to get that information from the internet as it is usually more up to date.
The other book I have been reading is Turkey Guide by Open Road Publishing. Adam Peck and Manja Sachet are the authors. Its very readable and covers the areas much more thoroughly (imho). After my visit next month, I will be able to tell which books were really the best.
Guidebooks, histories, biographies, novels...any good books having to do with Turkey and things Turkish.
