Buildings and Contents insurance

Post by gsa999 » Wed Jun 14, 2006 2:52 pm

Does anyone have any advise on the best place/company to go for buidings and contents insurance in Turkey. Our property is nearly finished and we need to sort this out asap. Are there any UK based insurers that would cover it?

TIA

Hi GSA

My Contents insurance is through a Turkish based company and cost me £50. Buildings will be the same company and roughly £150-200

When we bought our property last year on the Bodrum perninsular we did much searching and asking questions & decided to go with an English company called Intrasure who specialise in second homes overseas. The price is reasonable and I was given much reassurance when talking to their staff.
The main advantage they had over Turkish companies is that they provide public Liability up to £5000000 where the amount is minute.
Hope this helps, worth ringing them.
