Trekking the Kackar with a child

Post by ejoffe » Wed Jul 18, 2007 12:31 pm

My wife, 2 years old daughter and I are leaving for the Kackar mountains next week.
I am trying to find information on short one or two days trips we can do.
I also have a few questions:
How much does it cost to rent a mule to carry the bags ?

How much does it cost to rent sleeping bgs and tents and where are they available ?

I heard there is a possibility to do a few days treks via small villages in the mountains and in this way to avoid the need for a tent, sleeping bags and packing all the food. Is that true ? where ? and how much does it cost ?

Any other advice will be most welcome.

Hello Erel,
Did you check out this website
I must say I have serious reservations here, even I am not familiar with the area but taking a child is something. Looking to the website where they also show the Lycian Way, I make my judgement on this trail. It is hard, the shortest trail here is 5 hours, climbing in hot weather or for Black Sea perhaps lots of rain.
Perhaps it is wise to contact The Middle Earth Travel.
Good luck, anyway it does luck stunning!
