Mother/Son Hamam?

Post by abchesworth » Sun Mar 27, 2011 7:35 am

I'm traveling to Turkey with my 10-year old son this summer. I REALLY want to visit a hamam; but the only way I can do this is if we can go in together. Are there any places where a boy can come with his mother without being separated into mens/womens sections?

You don't say where in Turkey you're visiting but most of the hamams in the tourist areas are mixed anyway.

Oops - sorry. Istanbul only. The websites I've visited don't say they're mixed, are you sure? I found just one - Suleymaniye hamam - that says it's for mixed groups. But, they have only male masseurs, which Tom warns against.
