Crocs and bathroom shoes

Post by sally » Wed Apr 25, 2012 11:18 am

When we go on holiday we often take our Crocs with us. Not elegant but so comfortable and light to pack with a good grip on uneven surfaces. We can happily wear them all day in England. (Crocs are a flexible rubber clog)

However I have noticed when staying in Turkish houses that they are sometimes supplied as shoes for entering the bathroom. Does this mean that a Turkish person seeing someone wearing Crocs out in the street would think that they were strange, uncivilized or even dirty? If so, I will leave my Crocs at home.

Eh we'll see how folks weigh in here. I think Crocs are universal now in terms of their appeal. Turks may use them like we do flip flops in the shower but I never judge anyone I see wearing flip flops on the street. I applaud their comfort.
