Ezan - call to prayer

Post by tureng » Fri Jul 20, 2012 2:08 pm

Merhaba/hello,
Do you know where I can find the exact ezan (call to prayer words) that is called in Istanbul? I visited http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adhan and tried to follow the words for Sunni's as the muazzin was calling but it doesn't seem to match.

I realise the muazzin (what's the difference between a muazzin and imam?) is accentuating/lengthening the words etc and I don't think my Turkish is so bad that I am simply mishearing/misunderstanding it.

Teşekkürler/Thanks

Muezzin is who's calling the people to prayer; person who vocalize the ezan.
The lyrics of ezan is Arabic, not Turkish.
Come whoever you are...
just come as you are
