Actually, this stone-age “condominium” or apartment building has mostly been destroyed by erosion and earthquake over the centuries. The reason you see so many carved rooms is because the rest of the structure has collapsed.
Sort of upsetting if you lived there….
No worries! Lots and lots of cave dwellings remain in Cappadocia. You’ll see them when you travel to Turkey, and you can even stay in a cave hotel if you like!
