Şirince Restaurants

Last Updated on May 25, 2021

Şirince, the village in the hills near Ephesus, has several types of restaurants:

Artemis Restaurant

In a category by itself, the Artemis Restaurant has the best location and most professional service. Just to the left as you enter the village, its center is a noble 19th-century stone building that was once the Şirince village school. From your table on its park-like terrace shaded by pine and olive trees you can survey all of Şirince, its antique houses, its olive groves and vineyards.

The menu is mostly Turkish classics, ranging from simple dishes like gözleme (Turkish crepe) and salads to heartier fare. Wine is enthusiastically offered, and in fact there is a wine shop right on the premises should you want to take a bottle with you when you leave.

Hotel Restaurants

Şirince's boutique hotels have their own dining rooms which offer excellent meals to their guests and the general public. More...

Main Square Restaurants

The Çınaraltı and other restaurants facing the main square started as tea houses that expanded into restaurants when Şirince was discovered by tourists who came for the day. They are still favorite gathering-places for locals off-season, and for everyone in season.

Mom-and-Pop Restaurants

In the market streets and along the narrow, steep streets of Şirince's hillside are numerous small eateries run by local women and men, most serving simple but satisfying fare in pleasantly rustic surroundings. Some have good views of the valley.
