Boom Ba Ba Boom!
I was wandering along Istanbul‘s Uzunçarşı Caddesi (Street of the Long Market) downhill from the Grand Bazaar when this display caught my eye.
Duh! It had never occurred to me that there must be shops selling belly dance dresses. This is Turkey! Where else would a belly dancer get one? I wouldn’t expect her to make her own, not in this age of specialization.
Actually, this is a good example of the range of items available in Tahtakale, the market district downhill from the Grand Bazaar on the way to the Egyptian Market in Eminönü by the Galata Bridge.
You can find pretty much anything you want.
