For anyone planning a ferry trip across to the Greek island of Samos, the Liman Hotel in Kusadasi could hardly be more convenient as it’s just across the road from the port.
The Liman (‘Harbor’) Hotel’s 16 large guest rooms are on five floors accessible by a lift/elevator big enough to accommodate a wheelchair. All rooms have air conditioning, central heating and televisions, as well as spotless private bathrooms.
The rooftop terrace has a mesmerizing view of the harborside comings and goings, and of the tiny Kus Adasi (“Bird Island’) itself. Leisurely breakfasts and tasty seafood suppers are dished up here.
There’s a small bar in the lobby which also offers Internet access and a book exchange. Bookings for the ferry to Samos can be made here.
Kusadasi’s new port facilities, with their upscale shops and sunset-facing cafes, are immediately opposite the hotel, the livelier (and noisier) nightlife of Kusadasi a ten-minute walk away. What’s left of old Kusadasi survives behind the hotel at the top of a very steep hill.
Host Hasan Degirmenci has been in this business for most of his life, and he’ll be happy to explain the ins and outs of his town to you.
When you contact Hasan Bey for a reservation, please mention TTP. Here’s why.
