The village of Gülpınar, 37 km (23 miles) south of Alexandria Troas and 26 km (16 miles) northwest of Assos(map), holds the ruins of the ancient temple to Apollo Lord of the Mice.
The once-grand temple is ruined, but you can see the outlines of its foundation and the lower parts of several fluted marble columns have been re-erected.
Nearby, a small museum has collected artifacts found during the excavations.
Drive 32 km (20 miles, 45 minutes) north toward the Kestanbol Kaplıcaları (thermal spa) and Dalyan village to visit the more extensive ruins of the once-great ancient city of Alexandria Troas. About 9 km (6 miles) north of Dalyan is Geyikli Feribot İskelesi, the dock for ferryboats to the island of Bozcaada.
