Besides fine indoor and outdoor swimming pools, the Swissôtel has its own Bosphorus cruise boat for excursions, nightly dinner cruises, and a Sunday brunch cruise.
It’s a great location for views, but less so for walking anywhere. You’ll probably find yourself taking taxis most of the time.
If you are a walker you can stroll 15 minutes up the hill to the Teşvikiye and Nişantaşı districts for shopping and restaurants. Halfway along is the teleferik, a cable car that crosses the valley behind Dolmabahçeand lands you near the Istanbul Hilton and Grand Hyatt hotels.
It’s easy to reserve a value-priced private airport transfer to the hotel in a private Mercedes-Benz or equivalent vehicle that costs only slightly more than a taxi, and significantly less than two taxis (which you’ll need if you have 4+ people and/or lots of luggage), and far more pleasant, comfortable and trustworthy.
