Alternatives to Turkey's Digital Nomad Visa

Turkey has a few alternatives to a digital nomad visa. Read more about getting a Turkish visa.

Tourist Visa

Many nationalities are eligible for a 90-day visa on arrival to Turkey. This allows for 90 days of stay within a 180-day period (similar to a Schengen visa). Turkey is located outside of the Schengen region so it is a popular place for digital nomads to visit. Turkey recently changed its laws to allow visa free entry to Americans, Canadians, and other nationalities. Read more here. If you need an e-visa, apply via the official site.

Tourist Residency Permit

Turkey has a maximum one-year residence permit which can be issued to eligible applicants. However, in the last 2 years, it has been more challenging to receive this visa. Even after satisfying the official requirements, many applicants, particularly in large cities & popular areas, are finding high rates of rejection.

Other Visa Types

Turkey also offers other visa types such as work permits, family residence permits, student residence permits, and residency based on investment and real estate. You can also get temporary residency for medical treatment purposes. Read more on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs official site.
