Istanbul is a large and intricate city that spans two continents, Asia and Europe. As a result, transportation can be more complicated than in other cities. The Istanbul Metro continues to expand, with the 11th metro line currently under construction. The completed metro lines make it easy to travel inexpensively to most destinations in Istanbul.
For example, Istanbul Metro allows you to travel between the new Istanbul Airport, the smaller Sabiha Gökçen Airport, the Otogar (main bus terminal), and the main tourist and hotel areas at Sultanahmet, Beyoğlu, Kadıköy and Sirkeci districts.
You can even use the Istanbul metro to travel to popular tourist destinations such as Hagia Sophia Mosque, Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace, Basilica Cistern, Galata Tower, and Dolmabahçe Palace.
