Shopping is an inseparable part of every culture. It is important to know at least the most necessary shopping expressions, from asking about prices to expressing preferences in Turkish for shopping in Turkey.
When it comes to shopping in Turkey, it's essential to learn how to ask about prices and express your needs. Phrases like "Ne kadar?" (How much?) and "Bu ne kadar?" (How much is this?) will be useful when you're curious about the cost of an item.
One particularly important aspect of shopping in Turkey is "pazarlık," the art of bargaining. Bargaining is common in Turkish markets, especially in places like bazaars and local markets. But, don’t use your bargaining skills at large shopping malls or other stores which display price tags.
Where Can You Go?
Turkey has lots of popular spots for shopping. One great example is Grand Baazar (Kapali Carsi) in Istanbul if you are looking for a rather ethnic and historical place. Another captivating place is the Egyptian Spice Bazaar (Mısır Çarşısı), also located in Istanbul,
