New View of Old “New” Mosque
I couldn’t resist taking detail photos of Istanbul‘s Yeni Cami(New Mosque, 1663) in Eminönü one night. Here’s one of the results.
The architects who designed Istanbul‘s great imperial mosques were geniuses for detail: domes, cupolas, arches, windows of various shapes and uses.
It all makes for a cascade of interesting things to look at, night or day.
