Taksim Square Hotels, Istanbul

North of the Golden HornBeyoğlu has fewer major sights than Sultanahmet in Old Istanbul south of the Golden Horn; but Beyoğlu has more upscale boutiquesfine restaurants, music clubs, and trendy cafes and bars.

Moderno-Ottoman palace in great location, though few views

Istanbul's first deluxe hotel, with panoramic views and spacious gardens and grounds

Ritz Carlton Istanbul

High-rise with fine views from the upper floors (most of which are deluxe apartments, not guest rooms), but not convenient for walking

Hilton Parksa Istanbul

4-Star with good views and service, across the valley from Beyoğlu

Swissotel The Bosphorus 

Not near Taksim, but on a hill overlooking Dolmabahçe Palace and the Bosphorus
