The swift-flowing Köprüçay (Bridge Creek) takes its name from a Roman stone bridge—still in use—across the aptly-named Köprülü Kanyon (Bridge Canyon) 108 km (67 miles) northeast of Antalya (map).
The river is favored by white-water rafters because of its relatively easy rapids (Class 1 & 2) along a scenic course downstream from the dramatic gorge.
