Antalya’s hidden gem, Köprülü Kanyon, is located in the district of Manavgat. Köprü means “bridge” in Turkish, which is where it takes its name from, due to having two separate bridges along the canyon. It is Turkey’s longest canyon and has a river that stretches 14 KM (8.5 miles) long. In this article, we will talk about the various things to do there, entrance fees, the pros and cons of the activities, and other important details.
Köprülü Kanyon is located on the northeastern side of the city center of Antalya. It takes part in the district of Manavgat. Getting there takes about 1.5 hours, depending on the traffic.
- Rafting is the top activity. There are multiple facilities with which you can go rafting and have some fun. It is a great, refreshing activity to do during the hot summer.
- Group tour activities such as Jeep Safari, Zipline, ATV Quad, and Buggy Safari. Read more below.
- Hike in the canyon.
- Visit nearby Selge Ancient City.
- Have a picnic and go fishing with your family.
There are tons of things to do to spend your day there, so we would highly recommend you to pay a visit there at least once. Even if you aren’t interested in other activities, this place is still worth visiting just for its natural beauty and scenery.
You have various options, such as coming by car, bus or tour. If you come by car, you can easily find a parking lot to leave your car safely. Coming by bus is the most complicated way, so I wouldn't recommend it much. If you are willing to do that, you will first have to take a bus going toward Manavgat or Alanya. Before reaching the Manavgat turnout, you need to transfer to a bus going towards the Beşkonak town. Then you will eventually reach the canyon.
If you choose to come by an arranged tour, which is the option most tourists go for, you will have to be ready at the location they tell you and then wait to be picked up by their shuttle.
If you are willing to enter the Milli Park (National Park), you will have to pay a nominal access fee. The price varies depending on whether you enter by car, motorcycle, or bus.
Booking a tour
When you decide to go on a tour, you have to reserve your place at least one day before the trip. You can easily book it online. There are tours that require online payment, while others ask you to pay on arrival. Once you reserve your place, they will contact you to decide on a location that is close to where you are staying and pick you up in the morning around 8 or 9.
