Cappadocia has all sorts of hotels, from simple modern pensions to deluxe five-star hotels, but the real character of the region shows in its cave hotels, those in which you can actually sleep in a cave room. Cave rooms also vary from simple but comfortable to elaborate cave suites with all the comforts (check out the luxury suites at Esbelli Evi with twin showers, enormous claw-foot bathtub, kitchen, fast Internet connections, multilingual channels of radio and TV). Prices suit everyone from backpackers to the most particular luxury travelers.
Cappadocian Cave Hotels
Ah, the troglodyte (cave-dweller) lifestyle! These modern cave inns have comfortable rooms with all mod cons (private bathrooms, hot water, heating, air conditioning, and even fast Internet connections). The cave people of the past never had it so good!
Ürgüp Hotels
Ürgüp perhaps has the largest and finest collection of cave rooms in any Cappadocian town.
Göreme Hotels
First, a backpackers’ town full of inexpensive pensions, Göreme now has a superb collection of cheap pensions, charming inns, good hotels, and luxury suites, all in Cappadocian cave style, within walking distance of Göreme Open-Air Museum.
Uçhisar Hotels
Uçhisar has lots of good cave rooms, suites, and villas, as well as charming guesthouses with panoramic views of the Cappadocian countryside in the town with the highest peak in the region.
Mustafapaşa (Sinasos) Hotels
Mustafapaşa has only a few lodgings in this quiet town south of Ürgüp.
