Kabataş Ferry Pier is one of the busiest ferry piers in Istanbul. This pier, which was renovated and opened in 2019, has a large area with a closed area of 708 square meters.

The ferry is the most enjoyable and beautiful way to travel in Istanbul. When passing from Europe to Asia, you can take a ferry and discover the most beautiful way to move from one continent to another. It will become even more unforgettable with the bridge and Bosporus views, seagulls, and dolphins that will accompany your journey.

How To Get Into a Ferry

You can board the ferries departing from Kabataş ferry pier with your Istanbul card or contactless credit and debit cards. You can get your Istanbul card from the Biletmatik (a machine where you can buy the card) in front of the ferry port, and then top up your card.

At the same time, you can board the ferry without an Istanbulkart by scanning your card at the ticket booth thanks to the contactless feature of your Mastercard credit card and debit card. It should be noted that the fee schedule applied to Istanbulkart and credit cards may be different.

Şehir Hatları (City Lines) operates under the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İstanbul Büyükşehir Belediyesi (İBB)) and provides ferry transportation.

Ferries departing from Kabataş go to Kadıköy, Üsküdar, and even the Princes’ Islands (Adalar). You can learn the most up-to-date schedules and available lines on the Şehir Hatları website and plan your trip accordingly.

There are usually cafes on board the ferries with affordable prices on Şehir Hatları ferries. The stern of a traditional Şehir Hatları Istanbul ferryboat is the best place to sit to enjoy the view and a glass of tea.
