The large, calm bay before Bitez is a favorite feature of this seaside resort on the Bodrum peninsula.
Being fairly close to Bodrum (just on the other side of Gümbet), Bitez (bee-TEHZZ) was one of the first resorts developed on the peninsula, and therefore it has had more time to “mature” and become more comfortable and less always-under-development.
Here’s information on hotels in Bitez:
The beach at Bitez is well cared for, with fine dark sand added at the beginning of each summer season. Some small hotels are just inland from the beach.
The sea is deep, however, and therefor dangerous. Signs warn of depths up to 4 meters (12 feet) and of the danger of drowning.
The hillsides inland from Bitez are lined with villas that enjoy some of the best sea, island and sunset views on the peninsula.
